HGA worked as part of the clients design team with O’Leary Goss on the prestigious refurbishment of the gate house at Clevedon Pier.
From the outset, the project was complicated due to the location and access to the site. The Pier is Grade 1 Listed and all works had to be carried out in an extremely sensitive manner.
The project consisted of creation of a new glazed multi level facility with restaurant and conferencing faciality cut into the rock face, refurbishment of the original gate house to form a visitors centre and refurbishment of the boardwalk and pier head. The existing defunct lighting columns were removed from site, refurbished and reinstalled with modern light fixtures with the glass spheres.
