HGA worked as part of the Clients design team with Kendall Kingscott Architects to refurbish a 64 bed board house at Marlborough College.
HGA provided designs for the mechanical and electrical services throughout the boarding house. The project was completed over two summer holiday periods.
Key engineering challenges with the refurbishment project were the interfacing between phases due to the aged and poor condition of the existing services. Maintaining supplies to the out of scope areas with systems such as automatic fire detection and domestic services required an adaptive approach on site once the location and routing of the existing services could be determined.
