Houghton Greenlees & Associates were engaged by the Client to work as part of the Clients design team to undertake the design of the mechanical and electrical building services for the cook/chill production kitchen.
Due to the complexity of the building caused by limited service voids and services density, we utilised Autodesk Revit to model the scheme in 3D.
Although the rest of the design team were working in 2D, the coordination of the structure and the services meant that 3D modelling was essential to ensure smooth project deployment. To this end, we utilised the 2D information provided by the design team to produce a 3D model of the building. We were able to utilise the 3D model data and export the data to Relux for the lighting design.
Due to the clients preference for an electric only cooking source, a new 1MVA LV service was brought onto site to power the kitchen and plant.
